Model United Nations (MUN) is an experiential learning activity designed to simulate multilateral diplomacy. Participating students learn about negotiations, foreign affairs, international organizations, and the UN. At the center of MUN is its National Conference, where delegates represent a given country in multiple UN committees and the Security Council. Participants seek consensus on solving most pressing global challenges.
At City College, Model United Nations is offered as an elective course through the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership. INTL 31406 is cross-listed by the Political Science Department and the International Studies Program. Students from other disciplines are encouraged to enroll. In addition, an intermediate, research-oriented, MUN preparatory course is offered in the Fall via the IS Program.
CCNY MUN team is excited to announce that in 2016 National MUN Conference in New York we will be representing Ghana. We welcome all students enrolled in 2016 MUN class and promise an amazing educational experience!
